Great Bircham sits on the very edge of the Sandringham and Houghton Hall Estates. It is a very attractive village with many traditional Norfolk cottages with a general store/deli and pub The King’s Head at its heart.
Just outside the village is beautiful Bircham Windmill. visitors can look around the mill, climb to the top of mill tower, enjoy the tea room, see all kinds of animals of take home some fresh baked cake and bread. Cycle hire is also available.
The church of St Mary and churchyard are part of the Royal Estate at Sandringham and stand at the junction of the road from Syderstone, Docking and King's Lynn. During the 1939-1945 war the churchyard was used for the burial of airmen from the Royal Air Force Station at Bircham Newton, service dead whose bodies were washed up by the sea and German airmen brought down in the Battle of Britain.
Being around 15 miles from King’s Lynn and 10 miles from Hunstanton, Great Bircham is ideally situated for exploring west Norfolk with many fine attractions on the doorstep. It is also well located for enjoying the outstanding birdwatching sites around this part of the beautiful coast.

A family run attraction with something for everyone. Bake some bread, climb the mill, tearooms, bakery, shop, garden and animals.
The Heritage Museum was established to conserve and display the memorabilia of the former RAF station and its satellite airfields. The Heritage Room was first opened in 2005 and is open to the public on a regular basis.
Licensed café, deli and wine shop in pretty village of Great Bircham, near Anmer and Sandringham. Home-made dishes, cakes, pastries and meals, picnics available to order.
The Bircham Windmill Tearooms serves a selection of home made cakes, scones and light lunches including an all day breakfast, a full range of English and Italian coffees and teas and of course our famous Clotted Cream Teas.
