North Runcton is situated about 4 miles south east of King’s Lynn. In the centre of the village is the green and All Saints' Church. Also on the green is the former school (now the Village Meeting Place, used by a variety of clubs and activities), old post office and a village sign.
The Grade 1 listed All Saints' Church, North Runcton, was designed by the architect Henry Bell who also designed the Custom House and Dukes Head hotel in King's Lynn. At the time Bell, who was the son of a wealthy Lynn merchant and later became town Mayor, lived in North Runcton. He was a contemporary of Sir Christoper Wren and Robert Hook and was impressed by the new London churches they designed after the Great Fire. All Saints is therefore one of the few Georgian churches in Norfolk, replacing a much older church that had collapsed in 1701.
A blue plaque on the former school notes that Sir Michael Caine took his first acting role here, when he was evacuated to the village during the London blitz. At the west end of the green is North Runcton Cricket and Tennis Club. The former phone box is billed as the ‘smallest museum and art gallery in England’.
There is an annual flower festival at the church in June. King’s Lynn Caravan and Camping Park is located adjacent the A47. There are pleasant local walks across North Runcton common and along local lanes.
