Platform One

Offering takeaway sandwiches, hot food, hot and cold drinks, and seating area. Platform One is a lovely cafe to enjoy something delicious whilst waiting for your train.

Church Farm Tearoom

Nestled between two rivers; The Great River Ouse on one side, and the man-made Relief Channel on the other. A favoured spot for locals, the pub attracts walkers and horse riders from local villages, and ramblers from farther afield.

Foldgate Inn Stradsett

We are a family run business serving a wide range of home cooked food. We source locally where possible for all our fresh vegetables and meats. We provide a range of locally sourced casks ales and beers, ciders, wines, and spirits. We can cater for vegetarian, gluten free and vegans. Our outside spaces offer a large beer garden, which is a dog friendly and a safe play area.

The Hare Arms Stow Bardolph

Serving a diverse and tasty fresh menu of locally sourced seasonal dishes and a selection of cask ales. Having recently undergone a thorough re-decoration and refit; the large and comfortable interior, with its long, traditional bar, three log fires, quirky decor extensive, restaurant style dining and new ‘Front Room’ extension, ooze a homely and relaxed vibe, with a warm atmosphere to suit.

The Chequers Wimbotsham

The Chequers is a traditional English pub set in the heart of the picturesque village of Wimbotsham, overlooking the village green. Kim and David Coombes, who are originally from London, have been licensees of the pub since 2013. The Chequers is the perfect place for a relaxing drink. We serve a number of local ales and have an excellent Cask Marque rating. You can also enjoy hearty home cooked food at our pub. The menu offering is extensive, including our comforting pub classics made from locally sourced ingredients.

The Crown

A 17th century Grade II listed coaching inn set in the heart of Downham Market. Long term family run establishment in the local area, celebrating twenty years at the Crown Hotel. We offer a fine selection of food and drink in a historic location full of character.

Visit Downham Market

Today this beautiful and valuable farmland is protected by a network of drains, embankments and pumps and makes ideal cycling country. The elegant man-made waterways are ideal for boating and fishing, and fenland villages like Denver, Outwell and Three Holes provide a friendly stop-off point, whatever your mode of transport.

The natural environment of the Fens provides fantastic opportunities for bird watching, cycling, horse riding and walking. Downham Market is a great base to explore the surrounding countryside and get out and about in the great outdoors. Walking trails in the Downham Market area include the Denver Sluice and The Fens walk, the ‘Health Heritage’ and Biodiversity walks (with more information available from the Norfolk County Council walks site).
