Guided Walks

Nine hundred years of maritime trading history are preserved in the historic core of King’s Lynn. Fine houses, medieval churches and guildhalls, secret courtyards and hidden alleys remain to be discovered with the King’s Lynn Town Guides.

Situated as it is on the bank of the River Great Ouse, King’s Lynn also has a thriving maritime scene. Fishing boats landing shellfish from the Wash and much larger vessels loading grain, for example, can all be seen on a guided walk.

King’s Lynn Town Guides

The King’s Lynn Town Guides offer a varied programme of walking tours taking in the rich history of the town and its maritime heritage. Regular walks include ‘Historic Lynn’ and ‘Sailors, Smugglers and Merchant Adventurers’.

The Guides are also happy to take private parties and special interest groups throughout the year.

Regular Walks take place from Easter to the end of October commencing at 2pm, with additional peak season walks available during the months June to September

Throughout June to September, the Guides hold a series of walks which take on more specialist themes. These walks are particularly popular with local people, many of whom come to several of the walks, making a regular evening outing through the summer whilst discovering different aspects of the town’s history.

July in King’s Lynn marks the start of Festival Month. The King’s Lynn Town Guides take a number of specialist Festival Walks during the King’s Lynn Festival in July.

Private, bespoke and group walks are available at any time of year to suit you.
