    The church of St. James stands in the middle of the Castle Acre village amidst the ruins of the Norman Castle and those of Castle Acre Priory.

  • St Mary's Church, Burnham Deepdale

    Church is usually open during daylight hours.

    This little church in its coastal village deserves fame for its three outstanding features: – it’s Saxon round tower (pre-Conquest of 1066), its Norman font, and its collection of medieval glass.

    St Mary’s church was regarded by Pevsner as the best “decorated” church in East Anglia. Certainly, the stained-glasss windows alone are spectacular let alone the Medieval pulpit and eagle lectern.
