Markets throughout the area offer an impressive selection of local fish and shellfish – and along the coast many small stalls offer the latest catch. You will find locally caught seafood and fish in many pubs, with more and more regional restaurants meeting the growing trend for local produce, whatever the season. You will find that Norfolk-grown food takes pride of place on a great many menus in West Norfolk restaurants, being key ingredients of everything from top-of-the-range Michelin star fine dining, to casual tapas – not to mention excellent Italian, Thai, Indian, Chinese and Greek cuisine.
For a real treat, fresh fish & chips – eaten in one of Hunstanton’s friendly family-run ‘chippies’, or on the Green – is a culinary highlight for many visitors. Teas are also particularly enjoyed, with marvellous cafés to be discovered in many towns and villages, and delicious homemade cakes and snacks served at most of the stately homes and attractions in the area.
