West Norfolk provides a great variety of water sports...

From coast to country, explore our great walks and trails...

There are great opportunities for horse riding throughout West Norfolk. Trek along miles of golden beaches or discover miles of countryside bridle ways and open fenland. For beginners there are many quality Riding Centres where you can learn to ride.

For more information about riding centres and equipment stockists, download our ‘Horse Riding in West Norfolk’ leaflet (soon to be updated) from our Guides & Publications page.

Young riders can also enjoy a leisurely ride on the beach ponies at Hunstanton.

For longer rides throughout the countryside try the 64 mile Peddars Way Riders Route or two 12 mile circular routes based on the Peddars Way taking in Great Massingham, Gayton Thorpe and Grimston Heath – details on both Norfolk Route #1 and Norfolk Route #2 found on The British Horse Society website.

To help identify other bridle routes through west Norfolk, visit the interactive Equestrian Access Map for rides and trails in eastern England.

There are also many top class equestrian events throughout West Norfolk, usually including the Burnham Market International Horse Trials in April, Houghton International Horse Trials at Houghton Hall in May and the Burnham Market Horse Trials in September.
