West Norfolk provides a great variety of water sports...

From coast to country, explore our great walks and trails...

West Norfolk is ideal cycling country – whether you bring your own or hire a bike locally, and there’s a wealth of cycle routes criss-crossing the whole area, often following traffic-free paths and traffic-calmed roads to provide extra peace of mind for the cyclist.

For the serious tourer, the National Cycle Network route runs right through West Norfolk, whilst from King’s Lynn northwards, the Norfolk Coast Cycleway follows the same route along quiet lanes through the heart of the countryside to Holkham, then continues along the coast as far as Cromer. In the past year, a series of shorter, circular routes have been developed along the Norfolk Coast Cycleway, offering a choice of day and half-day trips for those who want to take things easy!

And for the less adventurous but prepared to “give it a go”, why not hire a bicycle when you get here.

At AE Wallis in Heacham, for example, you can hire all the equipment and venture out on one of the suggested routes.

The King’s Lynn cycle map can be viewed online – Part 1 and Part 2 and cycle routes, cycling leaflets, maps and guide books are available from the tourist information centres.
