There is a lively arts scene in West Norfolk, providing high quality live entertainment throughout the region. Whatever your taste you will find something to suit, be it a small intimate play, top comedy, cinema or music.
The King’s Lynn Alive Corn Exchange is a lively hub of activity offering a huge range of entertainment including live music concerts, top comedians, classical ballet, opera, spectacular ice shows, drama and much more. It is also available to hire and is regularly used for fairs, concerts, dinner dances and wedding receptions. The warm and friendly Coffee House offers a selection of freshly baked cakes and treats as well as some of the best coffees in town. Also open for pre-show drinks.
The 15th century Guildhall of St George, one of England’s oldest surviving Guildhalls, comes alive with its varied range of presentations in the main auditorium, used as a venue for theatre, music, dance, and films presented by local groups.
The Majestic Cinema is the town centre’s main venue for the latest films for all the family. Opened in 1928 the distinctive building, with stained glass windows at the front, is an independent cinema with three screens, often showing films in 3D.
Art Galleries
The GroundWork Gallery (opposite the spectacular Custom House building) offers a wide range of cutting edge exhibitions of contemporary arts which show how art can enable us to respond to our changing environment and shape its future.
Alongside the South Quay, The Hanse House gallery space on the first floor of the Hanse House complex shows a varied and modern selection of art exhibitions at certain times of the year (check their official website for more details), with one-off cultural events, craft and education workshops also happening at the gallery space throughout the year.
