Guided Walks

Nine hundred years of maritime trading history are preserved in the historic core of King's Lynn. Fine houses, medieval churches and guildhalls, secret courtyards and hidden alleys remain to be discovered with the King's Lynn Town Guides.

Situated as it is on the bank of the River Great Ouse, the town also has a thriving maritime scene. Fishing boats landing shellfish from the Wash, much larger vessels loading grain for example can all be seen on a guided walk.

There are many types of guided walk available to lead you through the rich history of the town, including regular walks such as 'Historic Lynn' and 'Greyfriars to Red Mount' (looking at two historic buildings)'.

Monday evening walks include a 'Victorian Lynn' Walk, 'The Darker Side of Lynn' (a Guided Walk focussing on tales of murder, treason, hangings and witchcraft), and more.

Special Festival Walks (taking place in July) include a walk focussing on the Victorian schools of Lynn, a Georgian Lynn and Burney family walk, and more scheduled.

Guides are able to take private parties and special interest groups throughout the year. Illustrated talks on the town and guided coach tours of West Norfolk can also be arranged.
